Golgotha and the Garden Tomb

Golgotha, or Calvary is the site where Jesus was crucified. It is located just outside the walls of Jerusalem. The gospels of Matthew and Mark translate this as the place of the skull. You can clearly see a skull in this picture and I actually found an eyebrow and an eye in another area that I forgot to ask our guide about.

We had a service with all 320 of us EO folks. Jason Woolever, the preacher from Crossroads gave the sermon. He talked about living for today. Not the future. We spend too much time worrying about the future when we as Christians need to live for today. I didn’t come on this trip and look at it as a vacation. It is a pilgrimage. I am a pilgrim. I need to be guided. He also talked about those who may have come on the trip as a vacation and did we see the proof, the evidence that Jesus was here. How this all, indeed, happened. It is true! It all happened. He is coming again !  Wonderful service. Emotional and raw. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Continue to fill me.

Not the original stone that was rolled away

The tomb as we left our service. Peaceful, serene and yes, the tomb is empty. He is not there! He is risen!
