Easter time

We decided to declare Spring even if there is a ton of snow on the ground. Anna and I made cookies today since the kids are off school all week. The guys always help ice them:).

Snow again

While I was in Lombard, the guys at home got 13 inches of snow. Lombard didnt get anything. A few flurries. I wasn't sure we would make it home on time, but the raids were fine. Spring can come anytime now. Snow this late in March is nuts.

Meeting Robin and Kailee

Anna and I are meeting Robin and Kailee for a couple days while the guys stay at home with the pending snow storm. We are at the hotel swimming now. We mostly hung out in the hotel and did a little shopping. The girls would rather make duck tape creations than shop. :)

In February, besides the fact that we had a tad of measurable snow and actually had to use the snow blower, we also celebrated Valentine's Day and Anna's birthday. Happy 9th birthday to our Guiping Girl! She is a spunky, loving, caring, squirmy, crafty girl who was perfectly made for this family. She loves bright colors, zebra and other animal prints and her all time favorite right now is duct tape. We have many many colors. She crafts her way through life with a smile on her face. She also loves to read. Anna doesn't care for math, though. Just like her momma!
I realize I continue to go out of order all the time, but that is just how life is here lately. Show Choir season is finally winding down with only Nationals left in April, but we have been gone a lot and it is hard to catch up. I also take care of a friend who has cancer at least one day a week. Plus I have been working once a week it seems. Now I am off til April 5, so that is good. Here is a snow collage

More NYC

New York City

No clue why the collages are where they are, but you can click on each to make larger. New York City was fun and exhausting. It was a neat trip to do, but I am so glad that the grandparents kept Anna at home. It was NOT a place for her. We literally started walking at 9am and never stopped Saturday or Sunday much before midnight. We crammed a lot in and had a lot of fun with the Bowlings and others who went. We went to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Wallstreet/the Bull, Trinity Church, 9/11 Memorial. We had a water taxi around the Statue of Liberty. We went to Hell's kitchen area, the Cake Boss Cafe, Times Square (hotel was there), rode the subway numerous times, saw NEWSIES (which was phenomenol). I am sure I am forgetting many places, but we saw a ton. Oh..and Central Park. That was neat. It is quite large and we only went to one part of it. We walked and walked and walked....for hours and hours and hours. By the time we went back to the hotel at night to meet up with Brandon, we were utterly exhausted. Brandon was able to do all of the high schooler type things and was with the kids the entire trip, other than flying and sleeping. The competition was Friday and Logan was named Best Male Soloist. His girlfriend was a favorite performer or something like that. And Swings got Grand Champions. Les Femmes also won Grand Champs of their division. The combo won Best Combo. The boys were thrilled with the day. We head to Nationals in Chicago in April.

Snow

A few weeks ago we had some short-lives snow. We knew it wouldn't last and since we really didn't get any snow last year, we thought we better get out and play in it!

Braces off

Here is a shot of Brandon the day he got his braces on in Oct 2011. And then the shot of him today....the day they ce off! What a difference braces and maturing and growing up have made. Wow! Look at those pearly whites. Brandon will turn 14 next month! Such a handsome young man.

Stay tuned for NYC pictures. I'm behind and was hoping to update last week.
