We made it!!

Good morning (Sat morn) from Beijing! The flights went well. LONG but not bad. We kept busy playing games and watching movies, etc. Slept a little, too.  First one was about 1 hr and 20 min to Chicago. Flight to Beijing left a bit late Thursday evening.  We arrived in Beijing by 8:05. We met our BLAS Guide, Eric. He seems awesome. He got us through the rest of the airport and we met up with our driver and mini van. We arrived at the Metro Park Lido Hotel around 10:30 Fri night. (Crossed International Date Line). 

We won't see Eric again until Monday when the trip officially starts. Today we will hang around the hotel and take it easy. Hotel has five floors and is spread out with ten restaurants here. Around 4:30 we will meet two or three people for dinner. One of the show choir families, The Gosda's, know someone from IL that lives here. We will meet Diane and a friend for dinner. It will be nice having someone help us order and I am sure it will be nice for them to see some people from the US and visit. 

I (Jen) didn't sleep very well so I am up early, as usual.
