It’s all about the shawarma

Off to lunch for shawarma. The jury is still out on this one, but it wasn’t too bad.

We crossed the Jordan River on the way to Bethsaida. Jesus performed three miracles here.....feeding of multitudes

(Feeding of 5000 with fish and bread), healing of the blind man, among them.

Bethsaida means house of hunt or fisherman. Peter, Andrew and Philip were from here. John 1:44 talks about this. We walked among the city ruins and went to the top to learn more from Selah.

Read Luke 9:10 to learn more about this very spot where we went.

My new friend, Russell.

Next we went to Magdala. This ancient town grew into a thriving fishing village. Jesus likely taught here people like Mary Magdalene. A first century synagogue was discovered here in 2009. The Magdala Stone is to believed to be the holder of the Torah and Prophet Scrolls. The Marketplace here would have had twenty different rooms that sold different things.

Another beautiful spot
