Tel Dan was our next stop on this beautiful day. We hiked through the nature reserve. We saw babbling brooks and a running river. We saw the very gates that Abraham walked through 4000 years ago. We hiked up to a higher area and we could see Lebanon, Israel and the Syrian borders. It was beautiful!

You can see Lebanon, Syria and Isreali borders.

Later, we went to Caesarea Phillipi. It was located Syrian territory until 1967. Jesus’ Disciples walked here. It is known as the gates of hell, but Jesus prevailed. Here Peter confesses that Jesus was the Christmas and Son of God. Jesus said “On this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. it got me thinking about how even though this place was very dark, light prevailed and good came out of that darkness. Thank you, God, for knowing what is best for us even in the dark times.
